| The Man Name: Peter Pettigrew Age: 37 Gender: Male Former Occupations: Order of the Phoenix member, pet rat, spy. Current Occupation: Death Eater Goals: Retrieve magic. History Born to a pureblooded wizard family, Peter had a fairly normal childhood, eventually ending up at Hogwarts School of Witchcraf and Wizardry. There he quickly befriended Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and James Potter. Seven years of mischief and occasional bullying followed, as the four close-knit friends--eventually naming themselves the Marauders--grew, found out about their Remus' secret, became animagi together, and, for some, found love. As they grew closer to graduation, however, so grew the power of a man who now went by the name of Voldemort, casting a shadow of fear and suspicion over the wizarding world. After graduation, Peter's friends soon found themselves in the thick of battle; fairly threw themselves into it, really, and Peter followed along. Nothing else for him to do, really, and perhaps there were still some shreds of loyalty in him. Not for long. Soon Peter found himself overwhelmed by the war, and fearing an imminent loss and an even more imminent death, he quickly switched sides, becoming a spy for the Dark Lord for a good year. Until it was found that James' son, a toddler not even walking yet, was one of the Dark Lord's prime targets. Until Sirius Black, James' closest friend out of the four, came up with the brilliant idea of becoming a decoy Secret-Keeper. Keeping the real Secret-Keeper, the only one to know of the Potter's hiding place, safe from detection. And he had the perfect man in mind for the job. Peter. And there it was. Peter had the key to ending the war then and there, though he didn't quite realize it at first, and he used it. He revealed the hiding place to Lord Voldemort, then stepped back to watch the aftermath. Thing went horribly. By the next morning, the Dark Lord was gone, presumed dead, James and Lily were most definetely dead, Harry was an orphan and scarred in more ways than one, and Sirius was on the warpath. But Sirius was the only who knew of Peter's betrayal, something Peter quickly realized, and used to his advantage. He framed Sirius not only for the betrayal of James and Lily, but for the death of twelve innocent muggle bystanders and, cutting off a finger as proof of his death, scurried away in rat form to hid for twelve years as Scabbers, the Weasely family's pet rat. Until Sirius Black broke out of prison, revealed Peter's secret, and sent him on the run again, until he found his former great Lord and nursed back to health, eventually leading to Voldemort's resurrection, which he had a key--no pun intended--hand in. As a reward, he was given a strong silver hand to replace the one he'd sacrificed. This quickly came to be his downfall, as he spent the next three years in hiding, pushed around by his fellow Death Eaters and feeling quite victimized. Finally, after Harry Potter had been captured at last, Peter was the one who came across the inevitable escape attempt. At the last second though, he hesitated before killing the boy, perhaps out of guilt, more likely because of a debt owed, but either way the silver hand sensed the traitorous hesitation and immediately strangled Peter to death. |
Currently Having finally figured out that he did in fact die after dying yet again, Peter, thoroughly pissed off, has cut all ties to the Dark Lord and his teachings, though for once he hasn't immediately reassigned himself a new "master". At the moment he has chosen to be loyal to no one but himself until he finds someone he can rely on who won't eventually turn on him, like all the rest. He has also given up on going home, though he refuses to admit it, as he has no desire to go back to a world where he's supposed to be dead. Again. Soon, he hopes, his magic will return. |
Relationships Garcian Smith: The first person Peter spoke to in Discedo, which does not bode well. Not only did Mr. Smith quickly see through Peter's bluster, he seems to have already decided that Peter is not one to trust and has been keeping his eye on the man. Peter, understandably, does not like this, or Mr. Smith, and avoids him whenever possible. Currently, after having been saved from the hospital by Mr. Smith, Peter owes him a life debt. This does not please him. Razputin: A child, though Peter doesn't yet realise this, Raz was one of the first allies Peter made in Discedo. After learning of Raz's abilities, though suppressed just like Peter's, he was quick to become friendly with the boy. In a twisted way he has taken Raz under his wing, convincing him that Peter is completely trustworthy as well as slowly affecting Raz's view on the world, aided by other, less tactful occupants and the bleakness of Discedo itself. Harry Mason: As the obvious leader of the majority of refugees, to the point that those at the police station tend to report to him and the few antagonizers on the outskirts like to target him specifically, Peter has been slowly working his way into Harry's trust, he hopes. Alphonse Elric: One of the two who saved Peter from the dangers of the city, Alphonse seems wary of Peter, though less so now, and Peter is simply to find someone who at last has some shred of common sense. And, back when Peter was concerned with returning home, someone who isn't so determined to simply settle down in Discedo. Linda: Though convinced she's completely delusional or just too stubborn to admit that her life as an "Evil King" is mere fancy, he's equally convinced that's she strong, strong enough to take on one of the monsterous dogs by herself, and thus someone to keep an eye on. Peter is oddly fascinated by her strange circular logic. Linda seems to like him, for some reason, despite the fact that they're conversations inevitably end up in arguements about whether glowing bunnies are filled with gold, or if everyone over forty is senile. Sweeney Todd: Another Peter is convinced is completely mad, this time with a bit more reason. After being mistaken for a man Sweeney once knew, and killed. And he was fully intent on completing the job. After being convinced that Peter was no Beadle Bamford, Sweeney is another man who has decided to keep an eye on the crippled wizard. Peter finds this just as unnerving and annoying as he does with Mr. Smith. Terra: They don't know each other much, but they seem to share a few of the same philosophies, and the same feeling of being betrayed by old friends without any real reason to. Prydain: A teenager Peter somehow found himself giving love advice too, Peter is somewhat interested in his sword skills, but otherwise seems to treat him in perhaps the same manner he would have treated the children of his friends, if things had turned out differently. He does enjoy teasing and baiting the boy. The Doctor: Peter doesn't like him. End of story. Well, no, there's quite a long story involving werewolves, adventures, a series of novels called the "Prottah" books, but Peter doesn't like to talk about it. Demyx: Another optimist and a friend of Linda's, that's all Peter can say or cares to know. Though with his talk of ducks and hearts, he's quite possible insane as well. Captain Jack Sparrow: Peter finds him annoying with the way he talks in riddles, but his hints at power and the ability to come back from the dead intrigue him. Not that it matters much in a place like this. River Tam: Peter is loathe to anger her too much, as she's the sister of one of the few doctors(and the only "nice" one), but he finds her very aggravating. And terrifying, with her perceptiveness and hacking skills with which she has managed to piece together bits of his past. Currently he's settled for keeping a close eye on her, and is quick to denounce anything she says about rats or whispers as pure ramblings. Allen Walker: They have a fairly casual relationship. Peter views him as naive, but otherwise fairly intelligient, but is still quick to brush off his warnings. Yorda: A girl who is quickly learning to speak English, Peter finds her interesting and seems to enjoy teaching her, perhaps liking being the one asked the questions for once. Bellatrix Lestrange: Peter is terrified of her, though with her safely far away and without magic, currently he's more afraid that she'll blow his secret, and that others will believe her. He's been busy convincing everyone who'll listen that Bella speaks nothing but lies. Johanna Barker: Peter finds her quite charming, glad to find someone who's not English and polite, but largely sane and over the age of fourteen. Johanna seems to find him to a nice man as well, though that might change should they meet face-to-face. Rhode Kamelot: Rhode for whatever reason really likes Peter, quickly dubbing him as a friend, and Peter seems to find her oddly fascinating. Her claims of wanting to destroy the world to make it a better place don't worry him, he's heard it all before. And other than that little detail, they seem to share a lot of the same philosophies. At the moment he's glad to be able to have conversations that don't somehow turn to the subject of Evil Kings or glowing bunnies. |
